Entertainment to have multilingual and multicultural theme and performance by street dancers champions
London, UK - 31st March, 2008 - London Mums, the only free and independent peer support group for mums based in London, announced today that Hypnotick, runners up at this year's British Street Dancing Championship, will make a guest appearance at the annual Spring Party to be held on 12th May at edutainment centre Eddie Catz, Putney (London) and will perform a funky dance together with celebrity entertainer Amanda Frolich, founder of Amanda Action Kids. The party is open to the public. More information, including directions and how to register, is available at http://www.londonmums.org.uk/events/events.html.
Hypnotick are an exciting, energetic and dynamic group of young street dancers from west London. The youngest member is 10 years old and the oldest is 20. In 2007 they appeared in the music video for '12345' performed by children's entertainer to the celebrities Amanda Frolich, a west London based mother whose clients for her children's activity classes and birthday parties include David and Victoria Beckham, Matthew Pinsent, Sarah Beeny (Property Ladder), Catherine Tate and Peter Jones (Dragon's Den).
The party will be based on international languages, using action dance moves to multicultural songs and Bambinos Active will be taking all partygoers on a virtual journey around Europe. Mums, dads and children are invited to get dancing shoes on. Babies can join in as well as the entertainment is structured to suit children from 0 to 5 years. They will all be taking the train and a plane and along the way some friends they'll gain.
This is a taster of the concept of Bambinos Active's linguistic classes taking advantage of children's ability to learn languages quickly at young age and continue to use that language on an ongoing basis. Children learn from fun action and dance steps, to count, different parts of the body, to engage with other children and adults and much more, all in different languages. With Britain and London in particular being a multi-cultural society this is something long over-due. Mums bringing up multi-lingual children will have somewhere to take their children to a class where they can be surrounded by their language, or simply mums wishing to allow their children the opportunity to learn and practice another language. Mums, too, will have the opportunity to meet other mums who speak their language, and for mums who don't speak the language - you are sure to pick up a thing or two!! Classes will include various props and lots and lots of music!
Kirstie Reed, founder of Bambinos Active, commented: "I came across many mothers who were facing challenges trying to raise their children within a bilingual home, some were simply more advanced in one language whilst falling behind in another, others were more severe and prevented their children talking until much later than most children leading to them having difficulties forming friendships with other children. This, coupled with my own experience of attempting to learn a language, sparked the idea to put together a program for children's classes that would not only be good for mums and children who are bilingual, but could actually introduce a new language for children whose only language is English." She added: "This concept is simply tuning in to children's ability to learn. By taking advantage of their ability to pick up what they are taught very quickly AND by incorporating learning and practicing a language into an every day setting using play, it becomes easier to communicate new things to children. The child not only benefits from the use of the language but also from interacting with other children. Aside from languages the classes will cover the early learning goals by using props and physical development activities. More than anything classes will be FUN!"
Monica Costa, founder of London Mums, said: "London Mums' parties are regular get-together for London families with young children and include first class entertainment with a mix of fitness and fun learning activities. We believe in face-to-face interaction and we will continue organising events for families based in London."
